As Women in Sport (WIS) Week approaches, we at Active Wicklow want to take this opportunity to spotlight the remarkable women shaping the sporting landscape in Wicklow. The week will run from March 4th to 10th, 2024, this week-long celebration aims to honour the contributions of women and girls across various facets of sports.
The objectives of Women in Sport Week are multifaceted, seeking to celebrate, promote, and highlight the diverse roles women play within the sporting realm. From players to coaches, officials to volunteers, and leaders within sports organisations, the week serves as a platform to amplify their achievements and shed light on their indispensable roles.
In the spirit of Women in Sport Week we conducted a series of Q&As aimed to showcase the talent, dedication, and resilience of Wicklow’s female athletes, coaches, and volunteers.
