Wicklow County Outdoor Recreation Plan Open for Online Consultation
Wicklow County Council, Wicklow Sports & Recreation Partnership and County Wicklow Partnership are inviting online submissions to the development of a 5 year Outdoor Recreation Plan for Wicklow.
The online consultation will close at 1pm on the 26th of February. This online Consultation is following two well intended face to face public consultations in Blessington and Newtownmountkennedy.
The feedback submitted into this online consultation will shape the development of the Wicklow Outdoor Recreation Plan in relation to development of new amenities, maintenance of current resources and access for new participation opportunities throughout the county.
Cathaoirleach of Wicklow County Council, Cllr. Paul O’Brien, invited “all residents of County Wicklow to have their say to shape the future of Outdoor Recreation provision in Wicklow”. He highlighted the many resources on our doorstep and urged all to get involved.
Chief Executive of Wicklow County Council, Emer O’Gorman, said “As part of the National Outdoor Recreation Strategy each county is required to develop their specific plan. This will be Wicklow’s third outdoor recreation plan, so I would ask all interested parties to complete the questionnaire and have a say in directing our further development and investment in recreation in the county”.
Director of Service, Theresa O’Brien, highlighted the importance of the public inputting into such plans, stating, “for this plan to have real impact on the future development of Outdoor recreation infrastructure and participation opportunities, it is vital that the people of Wicklow engage”.
Members of the public are invited to complete the online questionnaire by 1pm on the 26th of February through the link below.
