Wicklow Sports and Recreation Partnership is delighted to announce that applications are now open for the Disability Sports Club Grants 2025. This funding aims to support sports clubs across County Wicklow to make their activities more inclusive and accessible for people with disabilities.
Clubs can apply for funding of up to €1,000 to help create opportunities for everyone to take part in sport and physical activity. The grant can be used in a range of ways, including:
Speaking about the initiative, Cathaoirleach of Wicklow County Council Cllr. Paul O’ Brien said: “Inclusive sport is about giving everyone the chance to enjoy the benefits of being active. This grant is a fantastic opportunity for clubs to enhance what they offer and remove some of the barriers people with disabilities may face,”
Chief Executive Emer O’Gorman stated “We know that small changes can make a big difference. With this funding, clubs can access the resources they need to create a more inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome to take part,”
Theresa O’Brien T/ Director of Services added: “We are committed to supporting local clubs in playing sports more inclusive and welcoming for people of all abilities. This grant is a great opportunity for clubs to take positive steps towards inclusion and to grow participation within their communities.”
Applications are now open, and we encourage sports club affiliated to a National Governing Body interested in developing inclusive opportunities to apply.
