Enjoy Tennis recently organized a ‘Test Drive Wheelchair Tennis’ event for young players who would like to give the game a go. The event was held at Greystones LTC last Saturday, supported financially by the ITF through the Johann Cruyff Foundation.
As you can see from our photos, there was a great turnout on a great day. The players really enjoyed their experience of tennis, and plans are being laid to build on this great start. A highlight of the event was the young players seeing one of Ireland’s top wheelchair tennis players, Garreth Greene, play an exhibition tie-break versus Adam Wade.
Enjoy Tennis wants to say a big thank you for the success of the day to:
• Greystones LTC for hosting the event.
• The ITF and the Johann Cruyff Foundation for financial support.
• Alan Russell (Head Coach) for organizing the on-court activities.
• The team of volunteers from the club who were an essential ingredient in the success of the on-court activities.
• Wicklow Local Sports Partnership (Gearoid O’Doherty), who kindly provided a ‘goodie bag’ for all players.
