>Virtual Pedal for your Medal

Virtual Pedal for your Medal (Free)

Join us for “Pedal for your Medal,” a thrilling virtual cycling event in celebration of Bike Week! Hop on your bike and challenge yourself to complete a 25km cycle within the designated week of 13th May to 21st May 2023. Whether you’re a seasoned cyclist or a casual rider, this event is open to all skill levels.

To participate, simply track your progress using a cycling app on your phone and capture a screenshot of your cycle log/map as evidence of completion. Then, email your screenshot along with your name and address to wicklowlsp@wicklowcoco.ie by the latest evening time of 23rd May 2023 to confirm your achievement.

As a reward for your hard work, all participants who successfully complete the 25km distance will receive a commemorative medal as a memento of their accomplishment.* You can complete the distance in one go or break it down into multiple cycles, as long as it is completed within the specified time frame.

Don’t miss out on the opportunity to challenge yourself, stay active, and earn a well-deserved medal. So, dust off your bike, hit the trails, and let’s pedal for our medals together during Bike Week 2022!

Learn To Cycle

This Learn to Cycle class is for children who cannot cycle without stabilisers.

Our Learn to Cycle class is an exciting and engaging program designed to teach children the fundamentals of cycling in a safe and supportive environment. Aimed at children aged 5-12 years old, our class is perfect for beginners who are eager to hop on a bike and start pedaling.

Led by experienced instructors, our Learn to Cycle class focuses on building essential skills to help children become confident and proficient cyclists. The class starts with basic bike handling skills, including balance, steering, and stopping.

Parent/Carer must stay to support the child and learn skills for practice after the session.

Own bike and helmet are required. Helmets must be worn during the programme, so practice at home might be needed.

>Intro to Mountain Biking - Bking.ie Tiknock

Join us on Saturday, 13th May for an exciting Introduction to Mountain Biking event at Biking.ie Ticknock! This event is perfect for beginners who are eager to learn the basics of mountain biking and explore some of the most breathtaking trails in the country.

The event will kick off at 1.30pm and run until 3pm, giving you plenty of time to soak in the stunning views of Dublin City and Bay, as well as the majestic Wicklow Mountains. Bikes will be provided, so all you need to bring is your enthusiasm and a sense of adventure!

At the start of the event, riders will receive a safety briefing on how to properly use the mountain bikes and securely fit a helmet. Our experienced instructors will guide you through the fundamental skills necessary to safely navigate designated mountain bike trails. You’ll learn about bike handling, body positioning, and essential techniques to tackle different terrains.

Once you’re equipped with the basic skills, it’s time to hit the trails! You’ll be guided on an exhilarating ride through some of the most spectacular mountain biking routes in the country, taking in the awe-inspiring views along the way. This is a unique opportunity to experience the thrill of mountain biking while surrounded by stunning natural scenery.

Whether you’re a beginner looking to try mountain biking for the first time or an experienced rider looking to sharpen your skills, this event is perfect for you. Sunday, May 14th

>Balance Bike Buddies

This 1 hour session is for 2 to 3 year olds. It is instructor lead by Courtown BMX Club and is designed for children under the age of 5 who ride a balance bike. The aim is to teach the fundamentals of cycling, encourage confidence and also help children make new friends while having big smiles and lots of laughs along the way.

No need to have a bike or helmet, both are given on the day to each participant. Participant must wear: long sleeve top, long trousers and gloves (winter gloves are fine). Parent/Guardian must stay for duration of event.
