Mark your calendars for Thursday, August 15th, from 5pm to 8pm, as we bring our HER Outdoors Beach Festival to Greystones South Beach! This exciting event is part of HER Outdoors Week, a celebration of women of all ages and abilities embracing the outdoors. With this year’s theme, #EmbraceYourSpace, we invite you to discover and enjoy the unique outdoor opportunities that Wicklow has to offer.
The HER Outdoors Beach Festival is designed to showcase the diverse playing opportunities available on the beach. Whether you’re looking to try something new or enjoy a favourite activity, there’s something for everyone. Our lineup includes:
- Beach Volleyball
- Beach Tug Of War
- Beach Tennis
- Beach Olympic Handball
- Stand Up Paddle Boarding
- 5k Social Run
- Race with Greystones Sailing Club
- Rowing with Greystones Rowing Club
- Sea Kayaking
- Intro to Sea Swimming
In addition to these exciting activities, we’re proud to feature Leinster Rugby’s first Women’s Social Beach Rugby 7s event. This showcase will see clubs from Wicklow and surrounding counties compete in a fun and friendly environment.
Adding to the fun, there will be a DJ to keep the energy high, face painters to bring colorful creativity, and insightful talks from Water Safety Ireland to ensure everyone enjoys the beach safely.

Stay safe while enjoying the waves at the Water Safety Talk with Water Safety Ireland during the Her Outdoors Greystones Beach Festival on Thursday, August 15th, at 6pm! This informative drop-in session is essential for beachgoers of all ages, offering valuable tips and techniques to ensure you and your loved ones stay safe in and around the water.
Join the experts from Water Safety Ireland as they provide practical advice on swimming safely, understanding tides, and recognising potential hazards. This engaging talk is a must-attend for anyone who loves spending time at the beach. Enhance your festival experience by learning how to enjoy the water responsibly—see you there at 6pm!

Join us for a Beach Volleyball session at the Her Outdoors Greystones Beach Festival on Thursday, August 15th, from 5pm to 8pm! This drop-in and play event is perfect for all skill levels, offering a fantastic opportunity to enjoy some fun in the sun while making new friends.
To enhance your experience, we’ll have a limited number of free beach socks available on a first-come, first-served basis, with preference given to those who pre-register.

Get ready to test your strength and teamwork at the Beach Tug O’ War during the Her Outdoors Greystones Beach Festival on Thursday, August 15th, from 5pm to 8pm! This is a drop-in and try event, inviting participants of all ages and fitness levels to join in the fun

Join us for our Social 5K Run leaving Greystones South Beach Playgroup Carpark on Thursday, 15th August, as part of Her Outdoors Beach Festival! The festival will run from 5pm to 8pm, make sure to drop down early and try some other sports!
Spaces are limited for this event. We kindly request that you only book onto this event if you genuinely intend to participate in it.

Paddle your way to fun at the Stand-Up Paddleboarding (SUP) event during the Her Outdoors Greystones Beach Festival on Thursday, August 15th.
The retail price for this event €50. This event has been subsidised by Wicklow Sports & Recreation Partnership, we have limited space for participants. We kindly request that you only book events that you genuinely intend to participate in. No-shows and last-minute cancellations impact planning and prevent others from seizing these valuable opportunities.
By responsibly booking and promptly canceling if needed, you actively contribute to our goal of empowering women in outdoor activities.
Please be aware that repeat offenders who do not show up to events or cancel at the last minute will be noted and may be prohibited from booking future events. Your cooperation ensures everyone has a fair opportunity to participate.
