Whether you cycle every day or haven’t been on a bike in years, there’s loads happening across Wicklow to get you involved.

This year sees the exciting return of the Bike Week Festival in Wicklow Town, bringing the buzz of cycling right into the heart of the community.
Experience the thrill of the StreetVelodrome, where you can race head-to-head on a purpose-built track – no experience needed, just jump on and give it a go!
We’re also delighted to welcome Fireride Local, who will be hosting a pop-up cycling activation featuring:
- A public cycling skills course
- High-energy stunt shows
- Opportunities to build confidence and have fun on two wheels

Pedal for your Medal – 9th to 17th May
Join us for “Pedal for your Medal,” a virtual cycling event in celebration of Bike Week! Hop on your bike and challenge yourself to complete a 25km cycle within the designated week of 9th to 17th May.
1.5 hour Free Fat Bike Rental – May 9th, 10th, 13th, 14th and 15th. Pre-Booking essential.
Enjoy the thrill of the trails with our FREE 1.5-hour FatBike hire, in partnership with FatBike Adventures, this May! Whether you’re new to fat biking or just looking for a fun outdoor experience, this is the perfect opportunity to get out and give it a go.
Available Dates: May 9th, 10th, 13th, 14th & 15th
Duration: 1.5 hours per booking

This pass gives you free bike rental for Saturday the 9th of May, exclusively from 9:30AM to 3PM. Unfortunately, you cannot transfer to an alternative day as we have limited spaces per day.
We only have a limited amount of children’s bikes, if you require a children’s bike please notify us by email wicklowlsp@wicklowcoco.ie
Please note we do not have any bike trailers, trikes or children seats for the bikes.
**This is a self-guided bike rental**
Bikes must be returned by 3PM. Bookings are limited to two per person.
How It Works:
- Secure Your Spot: To ensure availability and commitment, we’re taking a small €5 deposit for each bike booking. In the past, we’ve encountered high volumes of no-shows to free events, but this measure helps us ensure that those who book are ready to ride!
- Enjoy the Ride: Once you’ve booked your bike via Eventbrite, come on down to The Avon and pick up your wheels. Explore the Blessington Greenway and exciting trails at your own pace.
- Return and Refund: After completing your biking adventure, simply return the bike, and we’ll refund your €5 deposit promptly via Eventbrite. It’s that easy!
Embark on a scenic cycling adventure along the stunning Blessington Greenway and prepare to be pampered at Tintean Sauna.
* *Only aults aged 18+ will be accepted to the sauna**
You must complete your cycle prior to the sauna. We recommend allocating at least an 1 hour to complete the cycle of the greenway.

- Bring Your Own Bike: Bikes will not be provided as part of this booking. You can make a separate booking to rent a bike through the Avon.
- Secure Your Spot: A refundable €5 deposit per bike booking is required via Eventbrite. This helps manage attendance and reduce no-shows.
- Cycle First, Then Sauna: You must complete a cycle. No cycle, no sauna – this is strictly enforced.
- Be On Time: Sauna session times are fixed and cannot be changed. Each session lasts 50 minutes. Late arrivals will not be allowed to run over into the next session.

Learn to Cycle for children who cannot cycle without stabilisers.
Bike Week is a celebration and promotion of the benefits of cycling. Bike Week 2026 will take place from Saturday 9th to Sunday 17th May 2026. A variety of events will be held throughout Ireland.
Although this event is free, we have limited space for participants. We kindly request that you only book events that you genuinely intend to participate in. No-shows and last-minute cancellations impact planning and prevent others from seizing these valuable opportunities.
Tuesday, May 12th
Riders will be guided around some of the most spectacular mountain bike trails in the country with stunning views of Wicklow Mountains.
Please note bikes will be provided. There is a minimum height requirement of 5ft. U16s must be accompanied by an adult.
Join us on for an exciting Mountain Bike Tour at Biking.ie Ballinastoe Wood! This event is perfect for beginners who are eager to learn the basics of mountain biking and explore some of the most breathtaking trails in the country.
We have limited spaces so please only book on if you intend to participate.

Join us for the Wicklow Town Bike Week Festival, a free, family-friendly event taking place at the Murrough Car Park on Thursday, 14th May from 4:00pm to 7:00pm.
This fun-filled evening is all about getting people of all ages out on their bikes and enjoying everything cycling has to offer.
Festival activities include:
🚴 Street Velodrome – A thrilling, temporary track experience where bikes and helmets are provided, giving everyone a chance to test their skills in a safe and exciting environment.
🚧 Bike Assault Course – Put your cycling skills to the test on our fun obstacle course.
🧠 Sensory Pod – A calm and inclusive space for those who may need some quiet time during the event.
✨ Bling Your Bike Station – Get creative and decorate your bike with lots of cool gadgets and accessories.
🎨 Face Painting – Perfect for younger attendees (and the young at heart!).
