Bike Week is an annual celebration and promotion of everything that is great about bikes and cycling. This year, Bike Week will kick off on Saturday May 14th and end Sunday May 22nd.
A variety of events both on the ground and online will be held throughout Wicklow. There will be activities for all ages and levels from new to advanced cyclist. With over 25 events happening all over Wicklow, this is a great opportunity to get out and enjoy the beautiful Wicklow outdoors. A two hour taster session for people who are confident on trail centre reds and blacks and are relatively new to natural trails.
The course will help riders to build a foundation of skills helping them gain confidence and stability whilst on natural trails.
Skills are broken down and practiced in a safe area, then we hit the trails and practice them for real! Riders should come away with lots of tips and tricks to take away with them to practice and develop what they’ve learned. Places are limited!
*Participants will need a mountain bike in perfect working order with disk brakes*! Spaces can be booked through Eventbrite here.
FREE Cycle the Blessington Greenway and wind down with yoga as part of Bike Week 2022. Starting and finishing at The Avon, there will be refreshments to finish. This event is adults only! Places are limited and available through Eventbrite here!
Please contact wicklowlsp@wicklowcoco.ie if you require a bike & helmet. Otherwise we assume participants have a mountain/hybrid bike and helmet to use on the Greenway.
Wicklow Sports & Recreation Partnership as part of Bike Week are asking you to Cycle to our Yoga Class in Burnaby Park, Greystones/Bandstand, Bray Seafront. Bring your own mat, water bottle and small blanket (optional). This event is for adults only!
Come for a leisurely cycle with us from The Sports Room Wicklow Town to Killoughter via The Murrough. You will need to bring your own bike (mountain bike or hybrid bike) & helmet. This event is for people ages 10+. Kids need to be accompanied by an adult. Tea, coffee & a pastry at The Firehouse to finish.
Wicklow Sports & Recreation Partnership are holding a 25km Virtual Cycle for Bike Week – Pedal for your Medal. Medals given on Completion!
For confirmation of completion please e-mail your cycle log/map (screenshot from phone app) by latest Wednesday 25th May (evening time) to wicklowlsp@wicklowcoco.ie with your name & address. Please note the 25K cycle can only be started and completed over the week of Saturday 14th May – Sunday 22nd May. (The distance can be completed over several cycles)
Medals will be posted out in the coming weeks.
Experience the trails at Belmont. FREE FatBike rentals in for 1.5 hours. Bike rental from 5pm – 7pm. Important: Wavier to be filled out before you arrive. We have balance bikes for kids as young as 3 so any age really. Please note that all children under the age of 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult also on a bike.
